British Defense Secretary Penny Mordaunt is expected introduce new legislation that would expand legal protections to troops accused of crimes in past conflicts, reports Sky News (U.K.).
An official announcement is expected this week, reported the Guardian (U.K.).
The new legislation would end repeated investigations into a single incident and establish a general policy against prosecuting individuals for alleged crimes that occurred more than 10 years prior.
