Defense Dept. Withheld Information, Charges Audit Of F-25

The Canadian government has capped its funding for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter after a critical government audit was published last week, reports Defense News.

The auditor general found that officials from the Dept. of National Defense (DND) withheld key information from Parliament, underestimated costs and did not follow proper procurement rules.

Responding to the report, the procurement funding of 65 F-35 fighters was capped at Can$9 billion (US$8.9 billion).
