The Canadian Dept. of National Defense says it is ordering new general-purpose machine guns from Colt Canada to replace aging weapons.
Plans call for buying 1,148 of the 7.62-mm machine guns, noted IHS Jane's Defence Weekly on Thursday.
The new C6A1 FLEX general-purpose machine guns will replace existing C6 weapons, which were purchased more than 30 years ago. Some of those weapons have already been removed from service, while others are reaching the end of their service...
