The New Zealand government has decided to resume defense cooperation with Fiji, reports the New Zealand Ministry of Defense.
The Cabinet lifted several measures that had been in place since a coup in 2006.
"Removing these last constraints allows the defense force to rebuild co-operation and engagement with its Fijian counterparts," Defense Minister Gerry Brownlee said on Thursday.
