Defense Budget Takes Hit In Latest Proposal

Defense Minister Hussein Mwinyi has unveiled his proposed budget for Tanzania's 2019-2020 fiscal year, reports the Citizen (Dar es Salaam).

The US$798 million budget is a small decrease from this year's allocation of US$829 million.

The budget includes US$746 million for recurrent expenditures and US$55.6 million for development projects, Mwinyi said.
