The Philippines and the U.K. are working on a new defense cooperation agreement, reports the Manila Bulletin.
Both sides are seeking to update the existing accord by the end of 2016, according to Asif Ahmad, the British ambassador in Manila.
The object is to expand the scope of the current agreement, taking into account the lessons learned during the response to Typhoon Yolanda, which hit the Philippines in 2013, said officials.
