Decision Made To Buy F-35s From U.S., CV 90 IFVs From Sweden

The Czech Ministry of Defense has decided to buy advanced fighter jets from the U.S. and new infantry fighting vehicles from Sweden, reports Breaking Defense.

On Wednesday, the ministry announced plans to negotiate the purchase of 24 F-35 Lightning II stealthy fighter jets from the U.S.

Prague currently operates 14 Gripen C/D fighters leased from Sweden. The ministry wants to quickly negotiate a purchase of new jets to replace the Gripens once the lease runs out in 2027.
