Pakistani authorities say that more than 160 people have been killed in the South Waziristan tribal agency as a major military assault enters its seventh day, the Dawn (Pakistan) reports.
A total of 142 insurgents have been killed, said military officials. Thirteen militants, including six Uzbeks, were reported among recent deaths.
Two Pakistani soldiers were also just killed, bringing the total of military deaths to 20, according to military officials.
