In Deal Worth $2.1 Billion, Air Force Orders 15 More KC-46A Aerial Tankers

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Boeing a contract for a third lot of low-rate initial production KC-46A Pegasus tanker aircraft, reports the defense firm.

The $2.1 billion, awarded on Jan. 27, covers 15 tankers, spare engines and wing air refueling pod kits.

The first two orders, made in August 2016, covered seven and 12 KC-46s, respectively, as well as spare parts. The latest award brings Air Force orders for the tankers to 34, noted the Air Force News Service.
