Deal Inked With China For Amphibious Ship

The Royal Thai Navy has signed a contract with China for an amphibious platform dock, reports the Bangkok Post.

The US$213 million deal was signed on Sept. 9 during a ceremony in Beijing.

Thailand is purchasing a Type 071E landing platform dock (LPD), the export variant of China's Kunlunshan class, reported Jane's Defence Industry.

This is the first known export of the design, noted Naval Today.
