The purchase of new armored vehicles for combat support missions for the Canadian military could cost double the original estimates, reports the Ottawa Citizen. The Can$3 billion (US$2.3 billion) deal for 360 Light Armored Vehicles built by General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada was originally expected to cost between Can$500 million (US$377 million) and Can$1.5 billion (US$1.1 billion).
