Deal Calls For Up To 52 F-35s; Joint Strike Missiles Supported

The U.S. has agreed to work with Norway to integrate the Joint Strike Missile on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, reports the Kongsberg Group, the Norwegian defense firm that is developing the missile.

Norwegian Defense Minister Espen Barth Eide announced on Friday that Oslo had authorized the launch of development and integration of the JSM on the F-35.

U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta confirmed support for the project last week.
