Deal To Be Finalized Soon For 48 Su-35s

The Kremlin plans to purchase 48 Su-35 fighters for the Russian air force, reports Russia's Sputnik news agency.

The contract, to be signed at an air show later this month with United Aircraft Corp., will be worth about US$1.6 billion, said defense and industry sources cited by the Vedomosti newspaper.

An expert cited by the business publication said the deal will be the largest since 2012, when the air force purchased 92 Su-34s and 60 Su-30SM fighter jets.
