Turkey is ordering nine T129 attack helicopters from Italian-British helicopter manufacturer AgustaWestland under an urgent requirement for the Turkish army, Defense News reports.
The purchase decision came after scores of Turkish soldiers were killed in June in attacks by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
AgustaWestland will deliver unarmed aircraft, and the government will select and install weaponry, said company officials in Ankara.
