Brazilian paramilitary police have been involved in a raid of a slum area in Rio de Janeiro, the BBC reports.
At least eight suspected drug-traffickers were killed in two separate gunfights that lasted Wednesday night until Thursday morning, police officials said.
Police said they confiscated two rifles, ammunition, three pistols, two grenades and drugs in the Engenho da Rainha neighborhood.
