De Gaulle Carrier To Get Upgrade For Fire-Control System

French defense firm Thales says it has been awarded a contract to upgrade the fire-control system for air defense systems on the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle.
The upgrade features the Thales CONTROLView C2 system, which provides an overall air picture; assess threats and assigns and coordinates short- and medium-range weapons, according to a company release on Tuesday.
The SAAM air defense system was developed and installed on the Charles de Gaulle in the 1990s....
