David Tapped As Next Chief Of Staff

President-elect Benigno Simeon Aquino III has named army Lt. Gen. Ricardo David Jr. to be the next chief of staff of the Philippine armed forces, reports the Manila Bulletin.
The head of the Northern Luzon Command, David is scheduled to serve until his planned retirement in March 2011.
The general will replace Gen. Delfin Bangit, who assumed the post in March 2010.
A change of command ceremony is scheduled for July 2.
