Damen Chosen To Build New Frigates

The German government has selected a team led by Dutch shipbuilder Damen to build its new multirole frigates, reports Reuters.
The project, valued at nearly 6 billion euros (US$6.7 billion), covers four MKS-180 frigates, with options for two more, German lawmakers said Tuesday.
The ships will be built at the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Hamburg and other locations belonging to the North German Luerssen Group, said a Damen release.
