Damascus Uses Russian-Supplied Drones, Fighter Jets

The Syrian government has started deploying Russian-supplied drones against Islamist militants, says a Syrian security source cited by Agence France-Presse.

"For the first time, the army today used drones received from Moscow in operations against extremists in the north and east of the country," the source said on Wednesday.

U.S. officials on Monday noted that Russia was flying its own surveillance drones in Syria.
