Damascus Rejects U.N. Observers From Certain Countries

The Syrian government has reportedly put restrictions on the international monitors it deems acceptable.
Damascus has refused at least one U.N. peace-monitoring observer based on his nationality, CNN reports, citing comments by a U.S. ambassador.
Authorities have also told a senior U.N. peacekeeping official they will not accept monitors from nations that are members of the "Friends of Democratic Syria" group, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice said on Tuesday.
