Troops from Russia and four other former Soviet states unveiled a new rapid-reaction force on Friday as they began two weeks of military exercises, Agence France-Presse reports.
In addition to Russia forces, troops from Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are involved in the drills at the Matybulak training grounds in Kazakhstan.
