Cruiser Seizes 4 Tons Of Hashish Near Oman

The crew of the guided-missile cruiser USS Anzio seized about 4 tons of hashish worth $28 million while on patrol in the Gulf of Aden last week, the Navy Times reports.
The Ticonderoga-class cruiser, based in Norfolk, Va., is the flagship of the anti-piracy flotilla known as Combined Task Force 151.
The warship encountered a skiff carrying the narcotics about 170 miles off the coast of Oman on Oct. 15, said a spokesman for the 5th Fleet.
