U.S. Marines from the Spain-based crisis-response force for Africa have been evaluating three new forward staging bases that could be used in emergency situations, reports the Marine Corps Times.
The cooperative security locations (CSLs) in Gabon, Ghana and Senegal will be visited by contingents from the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa every six months, said Col. Thomas Savage, the task force commander.
