All those aboard a Philippine air force helicopter survived when the aircraft exploded Friday shortly after landing at a village in the Ilocos Sur province in western Luzon, reports the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
The UH-1H helicopter was ferrying several army soldiers to Barangay Sapang, but suffered engine problems and was forced to land in Barangay Nagrebcan.
The troops were traveling to support combat operations against Communist rebels in the region.
