The governments of Tajikistan and Iran have agreed to strengthen counterterrorism cooperation, reports the Mehr News Agency (Tehran).
On Monday, Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi, a member of the Iran-Tajikistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, met in Tehran with Nematollah Emamzadeh, the Tajik ambassador to Iran.
Dushanbe is committed to continuing working with Iran in the fight against terrorism and maintaining peace in the region, Emamzadeh said.
Tajikistan and Iran have a longstanding history of friendly ties, noted the news agency. The two countries have signed more than 150 agreements, largely focused on the economic and cultural sectors.
