Cougar Transport Helos Set For Overhaul, Modernization

RUAG in Switzerland has announced that it will modernize eight Cougar transport helicopters for the Swiss air force.

Under the deal, which was signed last month, the Cougars will be upgraded with a new flight management computer; precision management system for instrument flights; collision-avoidance system; IDAS-3 self-defense system; and a system developed by RUAG that emits an audible signal when the aircraft leaves a defined flight level, said a company release on Wednesday.
