Costa Rican Diplomat Released

A Costa Rican diplomat kidnapped over the weekend in Venezuela has been released, reports the U.S.-based Global Post.

Guillermo Cholele was abducted on Sunday night and held for ransom.

On Tuesday, Venezuelan Interior Minister Tareck el Aissami posted on Twitter that Cholele had been "liberated" and was being taken by police to his family.

Cholele later appeared on state television thanking the authorities and his captors for "returning me alive."
