A new report from the U.S. special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction (SIGAR) warns that corruption is still harming U.S. aid efforts, reports Bloomberg News.
"Corruption undermined the U.S. mission in Afghanistan by fueling grievances against the Afghan government and channeling material support to the insurgency," said John Sopko in the watchdog's first "lesson learned" report, which was released on Wednesday.
