A report commissioned by the Israeli government calls for cuts in the army's spending plans, a shorter term for compulsory service and a fixed five-year defense budget, reports the Times of Israel.
The report was just made public after being commissioned by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in 2014.
It proposes cuts to the Defense Ministry's pension plans and calls for reducing the term of mandatory service for non-combat personnel from three years to two by 2020.
