Contract Let For Robotic Vehicles For Army

The U.S. Army has placed a new order with Boeing and iRobot under an existing contract for additional unmanned ground vehicles, reports Boeing.
The $14.6 million deal covers 94 Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle (SUG) model 310 robots.
With the latest order, the Army has purchased 232 of the robots under a contract running through February 2011.
The SUGV 310 provides reconnaissance capabilities for explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) mission, said company officials.
