Contract Let For New Tripoli Enlarged-Deck Amphib

The U.S. Navy has awarded Huntington Ingalls Industries, Pascagoula, Miss., a $2.38 billion contract to build the second America-class amphibious assault ship, reports the Navy NewsStand.
The award covers detail design and construction work for the Tripoli at the company's Pascagoula shipyard.
Delivery is scheduled for fiscal 2018.
