Contract Awarded For New Patrol Boats

The U.S. Coast Guard has awarded SAFE Boats International a contract to supply patrol boats to Ghana, reports Defence Web (South Africa).
The US$1.1 million contract awarded earlier this year covers two 38-foot (12-m) Defender-class boats, trailers, spare parts and training to bolster Ghana’s maritime security capabilities.
The U.S. has previously supplied Defender-class boats to Ghana, including five 27-foot (8-m) boats handed over in 2015.
