Contingent Of American Special Operators Will Reach Syria 'Very Soon,' Says Envoy

A top U.S. official says dozens of American special operations troops will be deployed "very soon" to Syria, reports CBS News.

Fewer than 50 special operations troops will enter northern Syria to provide anti-Islamic State Arab forces with training, advice and assistance, according to Brett McGurk, the special U.S. envoy to the U.S.-led coalition.

No specific date would be given due to the sensitive nature of the deployment.
