Construction Begins In San Diego On 5th Expeditionary Sea Base For Navy

General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego has announced the start of construction on another expeditionary sea base for the U.S. Navy.
Work began on Jan. 25 on the yet-to-be-named ESB-5, the fifth ship in the Montford Point class of expeditionary transfer docks/expeditionary sea bases (ESD/ESB). The ship will be based on an Alaska-class oil tanker, noted USNI News.
