Construction Begins On Another Destroyer At Bath Iron Works

General Dynamics has kicked off construction of the third Zumwalt-class destroyer, reports the U.S. Navy.

Fabrication of DDG-1002 began last week at the general Dynamics Bath Iron Works shipyard in Bath, Maine.

Construction began on the Zumwalt, the first of the class, in February 2009; she is scheduled to be delivered in fiscal year 2014.
