The keel for the first joint high-speed vessel for the U.S. Army was laid last week, reports the U.S. Navy.
The ceremony took place at Austal USA in Mobile, Ala.,
The Spearhead (JHSV-1) is the first to be built under the Pentagon's Joint High-Speed Vessel program. It includes ships for both the Army and Navy.
