Confidentiality Agreement Reached On F-35

Japan and the United States have formalized a confidentiality agreement on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, says Japan's Foreign Minister Seiji Maehara, as reported by Xinhua, China's state news agency.

Maehara reported exchanging documents with U.S. Ambassador to Japan John Roos on the security of confidential information on the F-35 fifth-generation multirole fighter system.

The F-35 is expected to be Tokyo's choice to replace its aging fleet of F-4 Phantom fighters.
