Concerns Aired Over Military Budgets In Europe

Several NATO members are preparing to make deep cuts to their military forces, United Press International reports.

NATO leaders are meeting at alliance headquarters in Brussels this week. Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who will be in Brussels, has been urging allies to keep the current military levels.

The German government has indicated it will reduce its 250,000-member military by at least 40,000 troops, with cuts of up to 100,000 soldiers possible.
