United Nations—Committee Defers Decision On Burma, Taliban Seats

A U.N. committee has deferred a decision on whether to accept representatives from the Taliban and military junta in Burma, reports Bloomberg News. On Wednesday, the Credentials Committee of the General Assembly held a closed-door meeting to address the applications by the Taliban government in Afghanistan and Burma to occupy seats at the U.N., reported the New York Times.
