The Russian navy on Saturday is scheduled to commission a new minesweeper into service with the Black Sea Fleet at Novorossiysk, reports Interfax-AVN.
The Vice Admiral Zakharyin is equipped with the latest mine-defense systems, including an automated mine-clearing system, navy officials said.
The ship is named after the head of the navy's operations department from 1985-1991.
