Senior U.S. military officers say the preoccupation with fighting in Afghanistan has left little time to train for a possible conventional war, Politics Daily reports.
Since 2003, the Army and Marines have focused almost exclusively on counterinsurgency operations.
While U.S. troops are withdrawing from Iraq, the increased demand in Afghanistan has monopolized training efforts, said officials.
