Adm. James Stavridis, the head of the U.S. European Command (EUCOM), says NATO needs to supply more training personnel than the 4,800 that are currently authorized, reports CQ Politics.
About 5,200 trainers are required, potentially growing by another few hundred over the coming years, Stavridis said.
The alliance currently has about 3,600 trainers in Afghanistan, with another 1,200 expected to arrive by the end of the year.
