Commandant Brings Back 'Red Cells' For Afghanistan

Gen. James Amos, the Marine Corps commandant, is forming "red cell" groups to study enemy tactics in Afghanistan, reports the Marine Corps Times.
Such teams are generally used to test the effectiveness of U.S. or allied security or tactics.
Amos first used such groups in Iraq.
The teams of officers and staff noncommissioned officers analyze enemy threats, including tactics, and determine what operations could defeat the threat.
