The Indian government has approved the second phase of a plan to boost coastal security, reports the Press Trust of India.
The Cabinet Committee on Security on Friday approved the US$241 million proposal from the Home Ministry, which is scheduled to be implemented beginning in April 2011.
The plan calls for the federal government, in cooperation with state governments along the coast, to establish more coastal police stations, buy high-speed boats, recruit additional security...
