The U.S. Dept. of Defense has announced that it will provide a land-based radar to the Philippines, reports Agence France-Presse.
The radar will be part of a "watch center" designed to track ships off the coast, a Pentagon spokeswoman said on Tuesday.
The center will help with counter-proliferation and counter-smuggling operations, she said. The cost and the timeline for the project have not yet been announced.
