Coast Guard Vessel Sent To Standoff With China

The Philippines has sent a coast guard vessel to back up a navy warship involved in a standoff with two Chinese surveillance vessels in the South China Sea, reports the Voice of America News.
The Gregorio del Pilar, a former U.S. Coast Guard cutter, has been in the area since Tuesday.
The Gregorio del Pilar reportedly tried to arrest the crew members of about a dozen Chinese fishing boats. The surveillance ships then intervened.
