Two members of a British Royal Air Force Tornado GR4 fighter were rescued last week after their aircraft crashed off of Scotland's west coast, reports the Press Association (U.K.).
The fighter went down Thursday at Loch Ewe. The pilot and navigator ejected safely and were rescued by a coast guard helicopter.
The incident highlighted concerns over the planned closing of the Stornoway coast guard station, where the coast guard helicopter involved in the rescue is based.
