Coast Guard, Customs Sign Contracts For 8 Helicopters To Boost SAR, Border Patrol Capabilities

The Italian government has ordered eight more AW139 helicopters for its coast guard and customs and border protection service, reports Leonardo, the firm that builds the aircraft.

The coast guard will receive two helicopters and the customs and border protection service six under the 112 million euro deal (US$132 million), according to a company release on Dec. 11.
