Clinton Promises US$300 Caribbean Security Package

The United States has promised a major aid package to support security efforts in the Caribbean, reports the Nation News (Barbados).

The assistance package, which was unveiled last week in Barbados by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, includes US$45 million from the State Dept's Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI) in 2010 and another US$79 million that has been requested for fiscal 2011.
