Clashes Continue In Disputed Border Area

Tribesmen and Arab nomads have been involved in fighting in Sudan's disputed Abyei region near the north-south border, Reuters reports.
At least 23 people were killed in clashes over the last three days, officials said on Monday.
Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir warned last week that renewed fighting in the disputed region posed a threat to peace after southern Sudan's referendum, which has just started, reported South Africa's Business Day.
